DRESS CODE
AERIAL:
LEOTARD AND COTTON/SPANDEX CAPRIS OR LEGGINGS MANDATORY (must reach below the knee); no shorts allowed. No jewelry of any kind is allowed (earrings, rings, necklaces, bracelets, watches etc.). Toenails and fingernails must be clipped and filed so as to not tear the fabrics. No clothing with zippers, buttons or anything that could potentially tear the fabric or harm the student is permitted. Clothing should be fitted; no loose pants or shirts. Hair must be tied up. Clean flip-flops or sandals are required for all students when not in the fabrics. Dress code will be strictly enforced! Anyone not following our dress code will be asked to sit out of class. These dress code policies are in effect for the safety of our students and taken very seriously.
ACRO:
Any color leotard, tank top or sports bra, black or tan tights (must be footless or stirrup), Jazz shorts or capris (no pants). Bare feet or half sole dance shoes. Hair must be tied up and out of face. Boys should wear a solid color t-shirt and shorts.
ATTENDANCE
Due to high demand and limited space per class, only excused absences are allowed in our Aerial and Acro programs. Examples of excused absences include injury, illness, mandatory school events, emergency, etc. A doctor's note may be required and parents must call or e-mail the studio to excuse an absence. Makeup classes are available to students who have excused their absences in advance. Classes must be made up within 4 weeks of an absence; please see Miss Lauren for options. Make up classes are not available to students who participate in sports or other activities that interfere with regular Aerial and Acro attendance. No student will be allowed to attend Open Studio for a makeup session. There are no credits given on monthly tuition for missed classes, and unused makeup classes cannot be rolled over into the next month. Because most Aerial and Acro classes have a wait list, students with an excessive amount of unexcused absences may be dropped from their Aerial class.
ARRIVAL/BEFORE CLASS
Please allow adequate time for students to prepare for class, changing, restrooms, etc. We request that students are not dropped off any earlier than 10 minutes before the start of their first class. Parents, for the safety of your children, please be available at the front entrance to retrieve your children immediately after class has concluded. Please call the office if you are delayed. *No students are allowed in classrooms without a teacher present when class is not in session. Please be respectful of this rule and do not allow students to run and play in classrooms without teacher supervision.*
PARENT OBSERVATION
Observation weeks were cancelled in the past due to Covid-19. We brought observation weeks back last season and will continue to email all families with scheduled observation times. Typically, observation weeks run from October through April.
No one is allowed to sit and watch during regular class time; this is for the SAFETY and COMFORT of all students during their class time. Parents: please do not enter a classroom while class is in session. For families and students, please remove street shoes before entering all classrooms. Only dance shoes or socks are allowed on the dance floors.
TUITION/PAYMENT POLICIES
Aerial and Acro classes are in high demand and often times, classes will be full and have a wait list. Because of this, all Aerial and Acro families are required to have a credit card on file for monthly tuition payments.
Tuition is divided into 9 equal payments from September to May. Class lessons are based on an annual tuition fee. The school year typically consists of 34 weekly class sessions. Monthly tuition is based on the average of 4 classes per month. Some months may have as few as 2 or 3 weeks, while others have as many as 5 weeks. Tuition will be due on the first of the month and cards on file charged on the 5th of each month (if you prefer to pay for an upcoming month with a different form of payment, please notify the office and make sure to do so before the 5th). In the event that a card on file has expired or declines, the studio will e-mail you requesting new card information. Please keep in mind, $10.00 late fees occur on the 10th of the month and an additional $5.00 on the 15th of the month. Any Aerial or Acro family whose account is 60 days past due will forfeit their spot in their given class. Please contact the office directly to discuss payment options.
Aerial and Acro classes are a 9 month commitment. Students must attend and participate in all 9 months in order to enroll in the Fall session. Partial year enrollments and prorated tuition for such are not allowed.
VIRAL SYMPTOMS
We will continue to monitor the transmission of Covid-19 in our area. Students will not be able to attend class if they have any of the following symptoms: Fever, chills, cough, shortness of breath, difficulty breathing, muscle or body aches, sore throat, headache, vomiting or diarrhea, new loss of taste or smell. Masks are not required at this time.
HAND WASHING/HYGIENE
Students will be expected to wash their HANDS and FEET at home before arrival to class and will be required to apply hand sanitizer upon entrance into the Aerial rooms. Hand sanitizer will be located throughout the studio and students will be encouraged to make use of hand sanitizer throughout classes. We have CDC signage posted throughout the studio including hand washing instructions. The CDC and the American Academy of Pediatrics advise hand washing is one of the most important measures to protect your child from illness related to bacteria, viruses and Covid-19. Students must bring their own water bottles from home. Our water bubbler will be available for students to refill.
STUDIO DISINFECTION
The CDC and state guidelines advise thorough cleaning at least once daily. We have always been a studio that prides itself on cleanliness, but will continue to frequently clean/disinfect all commonly touched surfaces (e.g. door handles, floors, light switches, counters, sinks & bathroom facilities, mats, & Aerial equipment etc.) with CDC/EPA approved products to reduce bacterial and viral transmission including COVID-19.
EMERGENCIES
As with any physical activity, there is a risk of physical harm/injury in acrobatics and aerial. If injury occurs, NHAAC will make every effort to contact a parent or guardian. We ask that all families also have an emergency contact on file with us as well. In the case that a parent, guardian or emergency cannot be reached, NHAAC will seek/apply medical treatment on behalf of the student.
COMPLETE DETAILS ON ALL OUR STUDIO POLICIES CAN BE FOUND ON THE BULLETIN BOARD AT THE STUDIO.
